Crb - Anaphonic

Get in touch with Anaphonic's life.

CRB Elettronica was founded in 1948 by Duilio Borsini and initially dealt with the construction of radios. CRB was precisely the acronym of Costruzioni Radioelettriche Borsini. In 1952 the production of small portable battery-powered guitar amplifiers began which were very successful in the street vendors’ sector, thus opening up a market with practically no competitors and which only later saw the entry of other companies including the Milanese Geloso.
In 1955 with the opening of the new television market, for which the company built the electronics, CRB Elettronica moved to the center of Ancona, in via Marchetti. In those years it also opened up to the production of cartridges for tape recorders and electric motors for pianola and harmonium manufacturers in the area. In 1958, after moving from the center of Ancona to the industrial area called Baraccola, CRB Elettronica made agreements with Oliviero Pigini of EKO for the production of pick-ups for electric guitars and in 1967 began the design and production of electronic organs with the first models: Coral, Topaz and Rubin.
In 1969 the production of concert amplifiers was started which were exported throughout Europe and the Scandinavian countries. Among these we must mention the first Diamond series and the Space Sounds with leslie effect, a system patented by CRB Elettronica and born from an idea of Borsini himself. This production was carried out in the new plant called Space Sound and located in Casenuove di Osimo. In the following years, also thanks to the success of the Diamond brand at the Frankfurt fair, CRB Elettronica expanded its markets from Latin America to the United States, even arriving in Korea with a particular and qualified production of church organs. In this period Sandro Fontanella, with the collaboration of Marcello Colò took care of the demonstration part in international fairs.
In 1977 the first CRB electronic synthesizer called Uranus was born which was presented at the Frankfurt fair and produced the following year together with the Uranus 2 model, more manageable and suitable for live situations.
In 1982 CRB Elettronica ceased its activity. (Wikipedia Source)
